IS YOUR WORKFORCE THE FASTEST IN WALES? TIME TO PROVE IT!

Do you want a healthier, happier and more productive workforce? Reckon your colleagues are the fastest in Wales? Then sign-up for the 2016 Cardiff University/Cardiff Half Marathon Corporate Challenge.

Employees from businesses and organisations across Wales are being urged to take on the challenge of Wales’ biggest mass participation event on Sunday 2 October.

The Cardiff University/Cardiff Half Marathon Corporate Challenge will see teams from Wales’ biggest businesses, right down to the smallest independent organisations, go head-to-head to get fit, raise money for charity and attempt to take the title of the country’s fastest workforce.

Teams are made-up of at least five runners who will all complete the stunning 13.1 mile half marathon course around Cardiff, with the combined time of the first five runners determining a team’s position.

Last year more than 600 runners from 40 different companies took part, raising tens of thousands of pounds for good causes.

Costain, one of the UK’s leading engineering solutions providers, came out on top in 2015 with an impressive total time of 7:18:45, just ahead one of the teams from Principality with Cardiff University’s men’s football team finishing third.

Principality and new Cardiff Half Marathon title sponsors Cardiff University have both snapped-up places for this year’s event and there is no limit on the amount of teams a business or organisation can enter.

Corporate Challenge runners get the benefit of discounted entries to the Cardiff Half Marathon and the more employees a business enters the lower the price. Any business entering more than 50 employees can get a space for just £30 – saving a massive £7 per head off the price of a normal entry.

Other benefits include a finishers’ t-shirt and medal for every runner, a 12-week beginners training programme, your company’s name and logo on the results page and a chance to bag the unique trophy given to this year’s fastest team.

Run 4 Wales, Marketing Manager Annabelle Mason, commented: “The Cardiff University/Cardiff Half Marathon Corporate Challenge promotes health and well-being in the workplace and is an efficient way for companies to grow those all-important employee team building skills.

“Last year the businesses involved generated thousands of pounds for charity through sponsorship and used the event as a way of achieving CSR objectives. Regardless of your running time it’s an exciting and enjoyable activity to be involved in!”

“We already have some well-known companies lining up against each other, with each one wanting to win the bragging rights of having the fastest employees!”
