Cardiff Half Marathon

Each year, event organisers Run 4 Wales (R4W) donate 100 free places in the race to people who can use them as a vehicle to improve their health and wellbeing and support them through their journey to the start line.

If you’re a community or non-profit organisation that has links to a group that could benefit, please contact [email protected]

In 2023, for our twentieth anniversary, we celebrated Cardiff and what makes the Welsh capital one of the most welcoming places in the UK: the diversity of its people.

We reached out to multiple community groups in Cardiff and Wales from various backgrounds and with different stories. Everyone in the Clwb 100 was united by one common goal, to reach the Cardiff Half Marathon finish line and overcome hurdles that not every runner is required to overcome. We’d like to give our thanks to Pride Cymru, Grange Pavilion Youth Forum, Tiger Bay Boxing Club, TigerBay Football Club, Foundation 4 Sports Coaching, Oasis and others for their help in the recruitment of the 2023 Clwb 100!

For 2024, our theme for the year is ‘A Race For Everyone’. Once again we’re looking to celebrate the diversity of the event and how everyone can benefit from the power of mass participation, offering 100 free places through our 100 Club initiative.

Those selected to join will receive:

  • A free entry into the sold out 2024 Cardiff Half Marathon on Sunday 6 October
  • A free 100 Club technical t-shirt, to wear whilst training and on event day
  • Access to a closed social media support group, to engage with others taking part, ask for advice or share progress
  • An invite to a pre-race training event, including a talk with a running expert – an opportunity to ask questions and participate in a guided training run
  • A VIP start line experience on race day, including access to an exclusive Cardiff Castle start wave
  • A free one-month trial with run coaching app Coopah, which offers instant personalised and adaptable training plans, access to coaches and more
