Cardiff Half Marathon

Each year, event organisers Run 4 Wales (R4W) donate 100 free places in the race to people who can use them as a vehicle to improve their health and wellbeing and support them through their journey to the start line, often working with groups and communities typically excluded from running or who face barriers to entry.

Those selected to join will receive:

  • A free entry into the sold out Cardiff Half Marathon
  • A free 100 Club technical t-shirt, to wear whilst training and on event day
  • Access to a closed digital support group, to engage with others taking part, ask for advice or share progress
  • An invite to a pre-race training event, including a talk with a running expert – an opportunity to ask questions and participate in a guided training run
  • A VIP start line experience on race day, including access to an exclusive Cardiff Castle start wave
  • A free trial with run coaching app Coopah, which offers instant personalised and adaptable training plans, access to coaches and more

Join the 2026 100 Club

Entries into the 2026 Cardiff Half Marathon 100 Club are now open for individuals and community groups to nominate.

The 100 Club is back for 2026 with 100 free spaces available into the sold-out event on Sunday 4 October. These have been donated by the Run 4 Wales Charitable Foundation to enable people to use the event to improve their health and wellbeing.

Entries are open for those who are new to the half marathon distance and people can nominate themselves, someone else or a community group, stating why they want to take part. Anyone who is new to the distance can apply, however they must be at least 17 years of age come race day and the majority of successful applicants will be from the Cardiff postcode.

If you could use the Cardiff Half Marathon to improve your health and wellbeing we’d love to hear from you! Nominate yourself, a group or someone you think will benefit from the experience by completing the form below!

If you’re a community or non-profit organisation that has links to a group that could benefit, please contact [email protected]

Please note that nominations will close on Friday 29 May.
