Joining a running club can improve your running and help to motivate you throughout your training.

Joining a club is a great way to meet new people, socialise and push yourself by running with others. Clubs can be a great source of local information – whether you’re looking for your next race, the best local physio or want to know more about all the best routes in your area.

Many clubs can also offer coaching advice, or just opportunities to try new types of training session.

Finding the right running club can be daunting, but there are many tools on hand to help you decide. You may want to join an affiliated athletics club, or opt to join a more informal social running group.

Welsh Athletics

As the national governing body for Athletics in Wales, Welsh Athletics support a growing network of clubs and their members by providing an affiliation and support structure that aims to ensure there are safe, fun and accessible opportunities for all to participate.

Becoming an affiliated club member means you can claim a discount when entering licensed running events.
