Saturday Junior races postponed
We are very sorry to inform you that the Oysho Cardiff Half Junior Races, scheduled for tomorrow (Saturday 4 October), have been postponed due to the adverse weather forecast brought by Storm Amy.
The safety of our runners, spectators, volunteers and staff is always our top priority. The Met Office has issued a Yellow weather warning and unfortunately, the intensity of the storm means it would not be safe to proceed with the event.
We know this news will be disappointing for all those who were excited to take part, but we hope you understand that this difficult decision has been made with your safety in mind.
Please note: the Oysho Cardiff Half Marathon taking place on Sunday (5 October) is unaffected and will still be going ahead as planned. The event village will also remain open across the weekend, including race enquiries for race pack collections, t-shirt collection and exhibitors.
In line with our terms and conditions participants who were due to take part in the junior races (Toddler Dash, Future Challengers or Family Fun Run) tomorrow, your entry will automatically transfer to the 2026 Cardiff Half Junior. Your new 2026 entry also comes with the flexibility to defer to another of our 2026 Junior events or to transfer to another athlete.
We’ll be following up next week to provide you with more information about your deferral. As the team are currently on site to deliver Sunday’s half marathon event any queries relating to this will also be answered after the Cardiff Half Marathon weekend.
Thank you for your patience, understanding, and continued support. We look forward to welcoming you back at a future Run 4 Wales event.
