RUN THE CARDIFF HALF FOR BARNARDO’S
Make this year’s Cardiff Half Marathon really count and help change the lives of others.
In 2013, £2.3m was raised for charity as thousands took to Cardiff’s streets to compete in the Cardiff Half Marathon and help change the lives of millions of others around the UK and beyond.
Barnardo’s, charity partner of the Cardiff Half Marathon, offer a huge amount of support and advice for participants in the Cardiff Half Marathon; whether you’re experienced or a novice. Running for Barnardo’s includes a training day invite with an experienced athlete ahead of the race, fundraising support, a post-race reception invite – which includes a much needed massage – and the all-important bright green running vest to proudly wear around the course.
Last year, Barnardo’s transformed the lives of over 200,000 children and families in more than 900 vital projects across Wales and the UK, dealing with problems from homelessness and disability to bereavement, abuse and poverty.
£150 could provide an abused child with three vital sessions with a psychologist to help them rebuild their life. £250 could pay for a year’s worth of support group sessions for four young people whose parents misuse drugs or alcohol. £500 covers the weekly cost of running ten community youth groups for children living in deprived areas. £500 could buy a specialised climbing frame to help disabled children play and build their agility.
