Cardiff Half Marathon

Run 4 Wales receive hearty donation from Peter’s Food Service

Run 4 Wales volunteers will certainly not be going hungry as they support this year’s Lloyds Bank Cardiff Half Marathon, courtesy of a welcome donation from Wales’ favourite pie maker.

Bedwas-based Peter’s Food Service has donated hundreds of products to feed the 400 plus army of volunteers who will be making sure the event runs safely and smoothly for the 20,000 runners taking part in one of the UK’s biggest street races.

Speaking ahead of the event, Peter’s Commercial Director, James Osgood, said:

“The volunteers for the Cardiff Half Marathon do a great job in making sure that the day is a success and a great experience for all – we’re delighted to be able to lend our own support to this fantastic fundraiser in our capital city.”

Matt Newman, Chief Executive at Run 4 Wales, added: “We’d like to thank Peter’s for donating these products for our volunteers. We value highly their hard work throughout race day and it’s great to be able to offer them a tasty treat to keep them going!”

The Lloyds Bank Cardiff Half Marathon is the second largest half marathon in the UK and is set to see 40,000 spectators cheering the runners on as they complete the course this Sunday (October 4th).

The race starts outside Cardiff Castle before heading down past Cardiff City Stadium on its way to Penarth before heading towards Cardiff Bay. The course then heads towards the north of the city and runners will complete a loop of Roath Park Lake before the grandstand finish in the heart of the city at the Civic Centre.
