Recruitment for Aldi’s new Distribution Centre on track
Official Partner of the Cardiff Half Marathon, Aldi, has revealed that recruitment for its new distribution centre and offices in Cardiff is progressing, and the retailer is encouraging job seekers to apply for a variety of roles on offer.
In addition to the logistics and administration roles already published, Aldi is also looking to recruit around 70 new HGV Drivers, who will be responsible for delivering goods to Aldi’s portfolio of stores in South Wales and the South West of England. Rates start from £10.70 per hour and both day and night shift patterns are available.
Aldi has already commenced its recruitment for 230 warehouse staff and 30 office based positions, to support its store portfolio and ensure the smooth-running of the regional offices and distribution centre.
The majority of roles are available in logistics, which include over 200 Warehouse Selector positions for people seeking a long-term career in the sector, and a starting salary of £8.97 per hour. Candidates will be expected to ‘pick’ stock for a specific store and load it onto a pallet, ready to be collected by one of Aldi’s drivers. Warehouse Selectors are also expected to identify and remove damaged stock, and ensure pallets are safely secured for delivery.
There are also Warehouse and Transport Management posts with a starting annual salary of £34,500. These positions will require relevant experience within the logistics or distribution sectors, combined with strong management skills including the ability to organise and manage the performance of a large team of employees.
Aldi is looking to hire around 30 office assistants with relevant experience to work within its Central Administration team, and candidates will receive a market-leading starting salary of £29,000. Each of the roles will focus on a separate part of the business, such as store operations, property, trading or logistics, and candidates will need to demonstrate strong organisational abilities, good Excel and Outlook skills and attention to detail.
