Cardiff Half Marathon

Peter’s Pies help keep volunteers running!

The ‘Extra Milers’ volunteers at this year’s Cardiff University/Cardiff Half Marathon were left with full and happy tums on Sunday 2nd October, thanks to a donation from Wales’ favourite pie maker. Volunteers enjoyed pastries on Peter’s – who supplied over 500 pasties and sausage rolls.

Volunteers were vital in helping ensure the safety and enjoyment of all participants and spectators at the race, fulfilling a variety of roles on the day.

Naomi Warner, Run 4 Wales Volunteer Manager said: “We couldn’t organise the Cardiff University/Cardiff Half Marathon without the valued time, commitment and hard work of the hundreds of race day volunteers. We are extremely proud to have the support of Peter’s, an iconic brand here in Wales.”

Peter’s Commercial Director, James Osgood, said: “We want to congratulate everyone who ran in the Cardiff Half Marathon and all the volunteers who did a great job in helping out and making sure the day was a success.

A record 22,000 runners took part in the 2016 Cardiff University/Cardiff Half Marathon and an estimated £2.5 million was raised for some 800 charities.
