Mind to extend Principality Cardiff Half Marathon partnership

Mental health charity, Mind, has re-signed as an associate charity partner for next year’s Principality Cardiff Half Marathon.

The 2024 event will be held on Sunday 6 October and entries are already filling up fast.

Mind has been a race partner for over five years and event organisers, Run 4 Wales, are thrilled the relationship is continuing.

Matt Newman, Chief Executive at Run 4 Wales, said: “Mental health conditions can impact anyone at any time. This is why the work that Mind does is so important and why it’s essential all is done to raise as much money and awareness to help them continue.

“Research shows that physical activity can help improve mental health and we hope that participants of the Cardiff Half find the event beneficial to their wellbeing.

“There are several spaces to join the amazing team of Mind runners in next year’s event to not only raise vital funds for the charity, but raise awareness of mental health conditions and the work that Mind does.”

Mind ensures no one has to face a mental health problem alone, and it’s through incredible fundraisers and donations that it is able to help.

There are a number of places available to be part of Team Mind at next year’s event. Entry costs just £10 when pledging to raise £250. Alternatively, those with their own spaces can also join the team with no minimum sponsorship target, instead raising as much as they can.

Georgia Boss Johnson, Senior Fundraising Officer at Mind, added: “One in four of us experiences a mental health problem every year. That’s why Mind are here, fighting for mental health. From our trusted information to our online supportive community, to pushing government to make real change.

“But we can’t do it alone. We need brilliant people like you on our team, raising money to help make it happen. By joining #TeamMind for the 2024 Principality Cardiff Half Marathon, you’ll be making a huge difference to people across the country with a mental health problem. And once you join, you’ll always have us on your side, supporting you every step of the way.

“Sign up with #TeamMind and join the fight for mental health today.”
