Mind charity spaces sell out in record speed
Runners have snapped up all the spaces to run for Mind at this year’s Principality Cardiff Half Marathon.
With six months to go until race day, all 500 of Mind’s race entries have been filled – a record time for one of the event’s charity partners.
Mind ensures no one has to face a mental health problem alone, and it’s through incredible fundraisers and donations that it is able to help.
The mental health charity is associate charity partner of the race on Sunday 6 October and has been part of the event for over five years.
While its official race spaces are now filled, runners can still use their own places to fundraise for the charity.
Those still interested in running for them at this year’s Principality Cardiff Half on an official charity space can register to join Mind’s waiting list. They will be notified if any spaces for this year’s event become available.
Poppy Bostock, Senior Events Officer at Mind, said: “We’re absolutely delighted to have sold out of all our 500 charity places in the Cardiff Half Marathon. This is the earliest we’ve ever sold out in this event and believe it might also be a bit of a record for the event organisers to have a charity partner sell out this early too!
“We hope this means we’ll have the biggest team we’ve ever had at this year’s event as there is still time to join us with your own place or put your name down on our waiting list if you’d like to hear from us, should a charity place become available. We can’t wait to cheer on #TeamMind this October!”
Matt Newman, Chief Executive at event organisers Run 4 Wales, added: “It’s fantastic to see the support runners have for Mind which has resulted in their race spaces being filled in record time.
“Mental health conditions can impact anyone at any time and it’s so important all can be done to raise both funds and awareness for the charity.”
