Get ready to run Principality Cardiff Half 2024!
Following on from the buzz of the Principality Cardiff Half Marathon on Sunday, runners are being encouraged to pre-register their interest to next year’s event now.
The date of the 21st edition of the Principality Cardiff Half has been announced and will take place on Sunday 6 October in 2024.
Entries will open on Monday 16 October 2023 and the first 5,000 runners to sign up will be able to take advantage of special early bird pricing.
More than 27,500 people laced up their trainers and pounded the streets of the Welsh capital to mark the event’s 20th anniversary this year, and it’s anticipated that demand for 2024 will be greater than ever.
Matt Newman, CEO of Run 4 Wales, which organises the event, said: “The atmosphere was electric at this year’s Cardiff Half, thanks to all of our runners, volunteers and spectators, and we’re expecting next year’s event to be even more popular.
“The event has completely sold out for the past six years and early bird entries are usually snapped up within 12 hours of going on sale. We’d encourage everyone who’s thinking about taking part next year to register early to avoid disappointment.”
Runners who pre-register will receive priority access to the early bird entry sale and will receive a booking link hours before the public launch on Monday 16th October.
The first 5,000 people to sign up will benefit from discounted early bird pricing of £39, with general entry costing £49.
Founded in 2003 when just 1,500 runners took part, the Principality Cardiff Half has grown into one of Europe’s largest half marathons and is a part of the SuperHalfs – an international series of half marathons including races in Lisbon, Prague, Copenhagen and Valencia.
Entries for 2024 are expected to sell out earlier than ever, with record interest from overseas participants looking to complete the SuperHalfs series, so speed is required long before you even lace up your trainers!
Principality Building Society will remain as the headline sponsor, having extended their initial one-year partnership with Run 4 Wales.
