Charity at the Heart of the 2018 Cardiff Half
The Cardiff University/Cardiff Half Marathon aims to give more runners than ever the opportunity to raise millions for good causes.
Run 4 Wales is now able to reveal the Official Associated Charity Partners for the popular event which will take place on Sunday 7th October 2018.
The Cardiff University/Cardiff Half Marathon has grown to become Wales’ largest fundraising event, raising more than £2 million year on year, with charity very much at its core.
Runners are encouraged to pledge to run for the Lead Charity Partner, the NSPCC, or sign-up to support the Associate Charity Partners listed below, who will each offer exclusive packages and discounts for fundraisers.
Cancer Research UK, mental health charity Mind, Macmillan Cancer Support and Cardiff & Vale Health Charity make up the final line-up of Associated Charities for 2018, with each charity expected to be strongly represented on race day.
Run 4 Wales Chief Executive, Matt Newman said: “Raising money for good causes is at the heart of Run 4 Wales’ catalogue of events. Our Associated Charities will give fundraisers the platform they need to help break fundraising records at the Cardiff University/Cardiff Half Marathon.
“Those who chose to run in support of a charity at the 2017 Cardiff Half raised an amazing £360 on average, but we are hoping to set a new benchmark in 2018.
“All of our Associated Charities undertake vital work to help vulnerable people/projects across Wales and the UK and I would encourage runners to find out more about these excellent causes.”
