BUSINESSES TO RENEW RIVALRIES AT THE 2015 LLOYDS BANK CARDIFF HALF MARATHON CORPORATE CHALLENGE

Businesses are being invited to go head-to-head at the Lloyds Bank Cardiff Half Marathon to see who has the fastest workforce in Wales.

In 2014 employees from some of Wales’ largest companies including Lloyds Bank, Arriva Trains Wales, Cardiff Metropolitan University and the Welsh Rugby Union laced-up their running shoes to take part in the Lloyds Bank Cardiff Half Marathon Corporate challenge.

This year’s Lloyds Bank Cardiff Half Marathon takes place on Sunday 4th October when an estimated 22,000 runners will take to the streets of the Welsh capital.

There are two options available to companies wanting to take up the corporate challenge and engage with Wales’ largest road race.

Option 1, the Lloyds Bank Corporate Relay Challenge breaks the route down into three separate relay legs of 10km, 6km and 5km. The team members will work together to post the quickest possible time with prizes on offer for the fastest over the 13.1-mile distance.

Swansea-based health services company PRA were the first to cross the line in an impressive 1 hour 30 minutes ahead of a team from the WRU.

Whilst option 2 the corporate team package involves companies entering at least 5 runners, who will all complete the iconic half marathon course. An average of the first top 5 runners to cross the line will determine their position.

Marketing Manager Annabelle Mason said “The corporate challenge promotes health and well-being in the workplace and is an efficient way for companies to grow those all-important employee team building skills.

“Last year the businesses involved generated thousands of pounds for charity through sponsorship and used the event as a way of achieving CSR objectives.

“On race day corporate relay teams will have exclusive access to a VIP area and a post-race champagne reception, so regardless of your running time it’s an exciting and enjoyable activity to be involved in.

“We already have some well-known companies lining up against each other, with each one wanting to win the bragging rights of having the fastest employees!”
