Cardiff Half Marathon

Alzheimer’s Society’s Cardiff Half spaces now full

Runners have filled all the official entries to run the Principality Cardiff Half Marathon for the Alzheimer’s Society.

Despite the charity boosting its number of entries, it’s now completely filled its 600 spaces into the race which takes place on Sunday 6 October.

However, it doesn’t mean that people’s fundraising efforts for them are now closed.

Runners who have secured their own space into the Cardiff Half can still raise money for Alzheimer’s Society, should they wish.

There is also the option to express interest in running for the charity via their online form should spaces become available.

Gabrielle Wall, Event Fundraising Manager at Alzheimer’s Society, said: “We are overwhelmed that we have sold out of our charity places in record time. With your help we are hoping to make this our biggest team yet! This will allow us to give help and hope to all those living with dementia. And you can still be a part of this – if you have your own place we would love to have you run as part of our team. Make it a run to remember, join Team Alzheimer’s Society.’

Matt Newman, Chief Executive at event organiser Run 4 Wales, added: “It’s fantastic to see so much support for the Alzheimer’s Society with all 600 of their spaces being filled by runners wanting to fundraise and raise awareness for them at this year’s Principality Cardiff Half Marathon.

“We’re delighted to be working with the Alzheimer’s Society to help spread the word about the important work that they do and look forward to welcoming all their runners to the Welsh capital on race day.”
