Cardiff Half Marathon

Achieving your 2018 fitness ambitions methodically

First of all, Happy New Year from everyone at the Cardiff Half Marathon. Instead of worrying about all the food and drink you’ve consumed over the festive period, let’s focus on your health and fitness New Year’s Resolutions. If you’re looking to simply get fitter, we’re on hand to help. It doesn’t just happen overnight, though. Following our plan to get fit in 2018, you’ll be in prime condition and stand confidently at the start line of the Cardiff Half come October 7th.

First couple of months:

Starting from scratch and rebuilding your fitness is often the largest stumbling block. Plucking up the courage to get your running gear on and head outside is the biggest commitment. That’s why it’s your New Year’s Resolution after all. For the first couple of months in the year, ease your way through the gears and focus on turning lighter jogs into true pulse-raising work. During the cold winter months, this is enough of an achievement on its own and will keep you feeling fresh and healthy.
