ABP demonstrates commitment to a healthy workforce
A team of colleagues from Associated British Ports (ABP) is gearing up to take on the Principality Cardiff Half Marathon this weekend.
ABP is a company well known for its love of running as its not only an official partner of the Principality Cardiff Half Marathon, but it is also the headline sponsor of ABP Barry Island 10K and ABP Newport Wales Marathon. So, it’s no surprise that it values a healthy and active workforce.
Helen Thomas, Head of Property for ABP’s Wales & Short Sea Ports said:
“We can’t wait to cheer on our colleagues as they take on the Cardiff Half this weekend. As a company, we are really committed to supporting Run 4 Wales events as it not only helps us to engage with local communities in Wales but it also helps us to demonstrate our commitment to health and fitness across our workforce.
“As an employer, it’s crucial that we can promote the benefits of running to our workforce. We all know that it improves our cardiovascular health which is so important, especially for employees who are desk-based.
“We also know that getting active really improves our mental wellbeing which is just as important as our physical health. We are keen to support running events across Wales as it provides opportunities for our employees to take part as a corporate team and that helps encourage team building as they prepare for the challenge together.”
