100 FREE SPACES UP FOR GRABS IN THE LOCKDOWN RUNNERS CLUB
Run 4 Wales (R4W) have launched an exciting new competition for enthusiastic runners who have discovered or re-discovered a love of running during the COVID-19 pandemic, with 100 free spaces up for grabs in the new Lockdown Runners Club (LRC).
The Lockdown Runners Club is a new supportive community, celebrating the recent rise in running and open to anyone looking to take their new-found fitness and start on a journey towards the achievement of completing a 5K, 10K or half marathon.
Whilst we continue to wait for the return of large-scale running events, the Lockdown Runners Club will host a virtual event throughout July 2021, offering a motivating incentive for aspiring runners to get training and experience the sense of achievement that a traditional race day, and completing a new distance brings.
For a chance at winning one of the 100 free spaces, you’ll simply need to tell us what lockdown running has meant to you, and why you’d like to join the club.
Winners will gain access to the Lockdown Runners Club where they’ll receive training hints and tips, can engage with other runners, share advice and tales of the highs and lows of training. They’ll be able to choose between a complimentary 5K, 10K, or half marathon virtual event entry for the LRC Virtual Race taking place throughout July 2021 and receive an LRC finishers medal delivered to their home address after the race.
If you know someone who has taken up running during lockdown, why not nominate them to win a space in the Lockdown Runners Club and virtual race? R4W will be giving away an additional 25 free entries to those who successfully nominate one of the 100 winners – so they can race and train alongside a friend or loved one.
The Lockdown Runners Club Virtual Race will be open to all. If you’re not lucky enough to win one of the complimentary competition places you can register now for just £10.
Entry includes access to the Lockdown Runners Club digital community, 5K, 10K or half marathon race entry, and an LRC Race finishers medal. Those registered will receive a refund if they are selected as one of the competition winners.
Winners will be announced by the end of May, or when the maximum number of competition nominations have been received – whichever comes first!
