02.10.16 - Cardiff University Half Marathon - General View of the mass start from Cardiff Castle.

 

1) Cardiff Half Marathon Event Logistics Support Staff (Thursday- Sunday)

Duration: Thurs 28th September – Sun 1st October         

Positions Available: 2

Hours: Thursday 28th – 10am-5pm

Friday 29th – 9am-5pm

Saturday 30th – 9am-5pm

Sunday 1st Oct – Split shift 6am-10am & 2pm-6pm

*There may be opportunities for additional hours*

Hourly Rate: £8 an hour

Job Description: Run 4 Wales – organisers of the Cardiff University/Cardiff Half Marathon –  are looking for some temporary event logistics support staff to help deliver the event weekend as smoothly as possible.

This will include supporting event staff in their roles, packing vans, deliveries and logistics, signage and branding, event build and breakdown.

The role is based from the Run 4 Wales offices in Cardiff (CF10 8EG) but will also involve on site working.

Experience of driving vans is a bonus but not a requirement.

Lunch will be provided on event days.

3) Cardiff Half Marathon Mascot Support Staff

Duration: Sat 30th September & Sun 1st October         

Positions available: 3

Hours: 11am-2pm on Saturday and Sunday (6 hours total)

Hourly Rate: Minimum wage dependent on age

Job Description: During the Cardiff Half Marathon race weekend on Sat 1st and Sun 2nd October we require 3 energetic and engaging individuals no taller than 5ft 10in to work in rotation and dress up as the official Cardiff Half Marathon mascot Reddy the Teddy.

The 3-person mascot team will work together to dress up as and lead Reddy the Teddy throughout the day in order to engage with as many spectators and participants as possible throughout the two days.

The role is a fun opportunity to engage with the public, have fun in a busy event environment and bring smiles to the faces of children and adults.

4) Cardiff Half Marathon Sweep Crew

Date: Sun 1st October         

Positions available: 1

Hours: 9am-4pm (plus a 1 hour briefing the day before)

Hourly Rate: Minimum wage dependent on age

Job Description: We are looking for 1 person to become a part of our half marathon sweep team who are responsible for ensuring that our event 4 hours 30-minute cut-off time is enforced, with runners falling behind the expected pace being taken out of the race.

The role will include driving a minibus, so the applicant must be old enough to drive a minibus. Some experience of driving vans or minibuses would be desirable.

The successful applicant will join others to form a team of three.
