This website is provided and managed by Barnardo's, whose registered charity numbers are 216250 and SC037605. Barnardo’s organises the Cardiff Half Marathon every year with a view to raising money to provide help and support for, among others, young carers, children with disabilities and homeless young people.

This privacy statement (the “Statement”) explains how we collect, use, disclose and otherwise manage the personal information we may collect from you for the purpose of organising the Cardiff Half Marathon. This Statement applies only to the website, www.cardiffhalfmarathon.co.uk (the “Website”).

Information We Collect and How We Use It

Personal Information We Collect About You

We will collect only the personal information you specifically and knowingly provide to us on our Website, such as your name, address, telephone number or email address. We describe below in “Participation in the Cardiff Half Marathon” the personal information you may submit, the methods by which you may submit it and how we may use such personal information.

Participation in the Cardiff Half Marathon

The Website’s primary aim is to obtain users’ participation in the Cardiff Half Marathon. If you choose to register to participate in the Cardiff Half Marathon, we may ask you to provide your first name, surname, gender, postal address, email address, telephone number, mobile number and date of birth.

By providing the above information to Barnardo’s, unless you state otherwise, you agree to be registered with us as a participant in the Cardiff Half Marathon and to be included in our mailing list. Your information will be used: (i) to process your registration to participate in the Cardiff Half Marathon; and (ii) to send you information regarding our projects and activities.  

Other Uses of Information

We may also use the personal information you provide on our Website for internal purposes, such as for website administration, data analytics and compliance purposes.

Children’s Privacy

Participants in the Cardiff Half Marathon must be aged 17 or over. We do not seek nor will we knowingly collect personal information from anyone under the age of 17. Individuals aged under 17 must get their parents’, guardian’s or teacher’s permission before using the Website or providing their personal information to us.

Other Information We Collect

Aggregate or summary information is collected automatically by our Website (e.g. number of visitors to the Website). In order to do this we may need to send cookies to your computer. This information is used to monitor use of the Website and will not contain information that can identify you as an individual.

We also use Google Analytics on our Website. It is a web analytics service provided by Google, Inc. (“Google”). Google Analytics uses cookies to help the Website analyze how users use the Website.
