JustGiving announced as official online fundraising platform for the Cardiff University/Cardiff Half Marathon
Online fundraising platform JustGiving has been named the Official Online Fundraising Partner of the Cardiff University/Cardiff Half Marathon.
The Cardiff Half Marathon is Wales’ largest fundraising event, with funds raised at the 2016 event in excess of £2.5 million – so a partnership with JustGiving, the world’s number one online giving platform is a logical one.
The 2017 Cardiff University/Cardiff Half Marathon takes place on Sunday 1st October and is expected to attract more than 22,000 runners to the Welsh capital.
Deborah Powell, Head of Operations at Run4Wales, commented: ‘Charity fundraising is at the heart of our event, which was established by Barnardo’s in 2003. Our partnership with JustGiving is born out of a shared ambition to maximise overall charity fundraising, and to increase the proportion of reserved charity places at our event. With their help, we hope to surpass all fundraising targets for the 2017 race and look forward to maximising fundraising opportunities for all of our runners and charities.’
The partnership will see JustGiving technology integrated into the online race entry platform and JustGiving resources used to help charities identify key messages and timings to incentivise fundraisers to both create their donation pages and to engage with their sponsors, and also with their range of analysis tools allow charities to monitor their fundraising activity during the run up to the event.

Entries are open for the 2017 Cardiff University/Cardiff Half Marathon and selling fast, with runners able to take advantage of a discounted early bird offer until 31st January 2017.
