Running for charity

The atmosphere was amazing. Post race facilities offered by Barnardo’s were first class, I will definitely be returning again next year.

Running for a charity is an amazing thing to do.
Knowing your run has helped others gives a huge boost to the satisfaction you’ll feel on finishing the race. You’ll also be more highly motivated during your training and the race itself. Since the first Cardiff Half Marathon in 2003 over 170 charities and good causes have benefited from the race and the amount raised grows rapidly every year!
You can run for whichever charity you choose.
Remember to inform the charity you’ve chosen directly that you’re running for them in the Lloyds TSB Cardiff Half Marathon. They will give you your official sponsorship forms, details of how to pay in the money raised and specialist help and support.

How your sponsorship money can change lives
Barnardo’s is one of the UK’s leading children’s charities. If you run for Barnardo’s you’ll receive a range of benefits and goodies including a running vest and post-race reception. You’ll also be changing disadvantaged children’s lives.
You could help children like Kara

Kara, at just 15 years old, gets up hours before school starts to look after her mum, who has Multiple Sclerosis and her stepfather, who is wheelchair bound.
Barnardo's Caerphilly project has given Kara a lifeline. She now has people to lean on when the going gets tough and can spend time with other children who know what she’s going through. Kara says 'I knew there was always someone at the project to talk to me and back me'.
